MEET THE FOUNDER — RAMONA ADKINS
My love for eyewear didn't start in a boardroom — it started in high school. Growing up, I was captivated by the transformative power of a great pair of frames. Inspired by the iconic style of Sir Elton John, I came to believe early on that eyewear is more than an accessory — it's an expression of who you are.
I'm Ramona Adkins, a Cincinnati native and the founder of Succulent Eyez Eyewear. In 2021, I launched the brand out of Charleston, SC — building it from the ground up with no formal fashion background, just a lifelong passion for eyewear and a clear vision for what accessible luxury could look like. Two years in, life handed me an unexpected turning point: after nearly 18 years, I was laid off from my job. Instead of starting over, I leaned all the way in. Succulent Eyez became my full-time focus, and I never looked back.
In June 2024, I expanded into the optical space, launching S.E.E. Optical to serve customers who need prescription lenses — bringing the same style and intentionality to functional eyewear. Shortly after, I relocated the business back home to Cincinnati, where the brand continues to grow, connect, and serve the community I've always called home.
Five years in, this is still deeply personal work — and I'm just getting started.

Succulent Eyez Eyewear was never just about selling glasses — it's about showing up for the people around us. Rooted in Cincinnati and shaped by the belief that everyone deserves to see the world clearly and in style, we are building something that goes beyond fashion.
In 2024, we proudly partnered with Withrow High School, supporting their athletic boosters through ongoing donations and a dedicated line of Withrow Tiger Sunglasses, where a portion of every sale goes directly back to the school and its athletes. We believe in giving back, one pair at a time.
Our vision for the community doesn't stop there. We are actively working toward becoming a full-service eyewear destination — from stylish sunglasses and optical frames to readers and specialized solutions for people living with color vision deficiency.
